Kennesaw ZIP Directory Coverage
Kennesaw has two geographic ZIP codes that appear throughout city and county records: 30144 and 30152. Both extend beyond the municipal boundary. A third code, 30156, is associated with Kennesaw post-office boxes and should not be treated as a residential neighborhood. The ZIP code directory therefore distinguishes delivery geography from legal jurisdiction.
| ZIP | Areas Served | Postal Form | Record-Search Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30144 | Central and east Kennesaw, with nearby Cobb addresses | Geographic delivery ZIP | Crosses the city line |
| 30152 | West Kennesaw and Cobb Parkway area, with nearby Cobb addresses | Geographic delivery ZIP | Crosses the city line |
| 30156 | Kennesaw post-office boxes | PO-box code | Not a neighborhood or parcel area |
Do not automatically add 30101 merely because some statistical tables associate it with the surrounding area. Official Census place geography and a mailing address answer different questions. Verify the actual street address through USPS, then test the parcel against city limits.
What Kennesaw 30144 Shows
The 30144 delivery area includes much of central and eastern Kennesaw. Official examples place Kennesaw United Methodist Church on Ben King Road, the Ben Robertson Community Center on Watts Drive, and Legacy Park Clubhouse on Legacy Park Circle within 30144. Those are precinct-place examples, not resident addresses, and polling sites can change.
A ZIP search for 30144 can produce owners and mailing addresses in Cobb's annual parcel data, business addresses in Kennesaw's license list, and election geography in precinct files. None of those sources provides a complete household roster. The assessor names title owners, while a business address may be an office and a precinct site merely shows where voters report.
Because postal Kennesaw extends beyond the city, a 30144 address may still be in unincorporated Cobb County. The city GIS boundary is the deciding check before requesting a Kennesaw permit, license, code, or police record.
Reading Kennesaw 30152
The 30152 delivery area takes in western Kennesaw and the Cobb Parkway corridor, while also reaching addresses beyond city limits. New Beginnings United Methodist Church on Cobb Parkway is an official precinct-place example within this ZIP. As with 30144, the postal label alone cannot prove municipal jurisdiction.
Use 30152 as a first filter when a name search returns too many Cobb records. It can separate likely mailing addresses in parcel exports or a delivered voter-list extract. Then move from the ZIP to the street, house number, parcel ID, and legal description. Each step reduces false matches and identifies the office that owns the record.
Boundary rule. A Kennesaw postal city in 30152 does not by itself place a parcel within the incorporated City of Kennesaw.
Verify a Kennesaw ZIP Code
The USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the primary address-to-ZIP check. Enter a street address to obtain the delivery code and ZIP+4. This is more reliable than inferring a code from a neighborhood name, nearby landmark, census table, or old mailing label.

- Standardize the full house number and street name.
- Run the address through USPS and record the five-digit ZIP and ZIP+4.
- Search the parcel by house number and street in Cobb County records.
- Open the parcel in GIS and compare it with the Kennesaw city-limit layer.
- Choose the city, county, or state custodian based on the record and jurisdiction.
Older documents may use Big Shanty rather than Kennesaw. The town adopted the Kennesaw name in 1887, so nineteenth-century family and land research needs both place terms. Postal ZIP codes did not exist in that era.
Cobb Search Rejects ZIP Input
Cobb's simple property gateway is intentionally narrow. It accepts House Number and Street, and its instructions say not to enter a unit, city, state, or ZIP code. A failed search can therefore result from supplying too much information, not from a missing parcel. The form also says to omit street suffixes and directional terms from the street box.
| Field | Accepted Input | Do Not Add |
|---|---|---|
| House Number | Street number | Unit or apartment |
| Street | Street name only | City, state, ZIP, suffix, direction |
For ZIP-wide analysis, use the Cobb GIS annual parcel ownership and appraisal data, which the county says is published around August, or request a suitable official extract. Do not scrape individual parcel pages to simulate a ZIP code directory. The direct form is best for one known address.
Note: If a parcel search fails, retry the street name alone before deciding that a Kennesaw address is absent from Cobb records.
Find Kennesaw Residents by ZIP
No official portal returns every resident in a Kennesaw ZIP. Build a lawful, source-specific result instead. Tax data can group parcel owners and mailing addresses, but it cannot name renters or every household member. Georgia My Voter Page verifies one voter's own record; it is not a public ZIP browser. A public voter list can contain names and addresses under O.C.G.A. §21-2-225, with protected and confidential fields removed.
- Confirm that 30144 or 30152 is the current USPS code for the address.
- Use official Cobb parcel data to identify properties or owners within that code.
- Request a lawful voter-file extract from Cobb Elections if voter geography is relevant.
- Check GIS to separate incorporated Kennesaw parcels from postal Kennesaw outside the line.
- Narrow the result to an exact address before drawing any conclusion about a person.
The full voter file comes through an election-record request, not through automated searches of My Voter Page. Ask Cobb Elections for current format, geography, date, and price. VoteSafe addresses and other confidential details remain suppressed. For an exact address chain after the ZIP is narrowed, use the Kennesaw directory by street.
Kennesaw Postal Terms Explained
The terms in a ZIP code directory describe mail routing at different levels. They should not be substituted for parcel, election, school, police, or city boundaries. A route can change while the land remains in the same city, and annexation can change a city custodian without changing the postal city immediately.
- ZIP code
- A five-digit USPS delivery area, not a municipal boundary.
- ZIP+4
- Four added digits that identify a smaller delivery segment, such as one side of a block or a group of boxes.
- PO-box ZIP
- A code used for post-office boxes rather than a mapped residential district.
- Unique ZIP
- A code assigned to one organization with enough mail volume; none is documented here as a Kennesaw residential area.
- Carrier route
- A postal delivery path that may cross familiar neighborhood or government lines.
Four identifiers often appear together in Cobb research. The situs address is the physical parcel location. The mailing address is where tax notices go. The legal description defines the land in recorded terms. The parcel ID is the county's unique property key. Only the first is directly tied to street location.
GIS Chooses Kennesaw Custodians
The Kennesaw maps and boundaries page and city GIS resources connect municipal boundary maintenance with E911 address integration. That official map test is stronger than a ZIP label. A parcel inside the line may lead to city permit, license, code, police, or municipal-court records. A parcel outside it remains under the relevant Cobb office for local services.
Annexation changes jurisdiction more directly than postal identity. A property can keep “Kennesaw” in its mailing address while city status changes. Record the date being researched, since today's boundary does not automatically describe an older event. For deeds, assessments, trial courts, probate, and elections, Cobb or Georgia offices remain central because Kennesaw is wholly within Cobb County and is not the county seat.
Do not infer residence. A ZIP, parcel owner, mailing address, or voter geography is one dated clue, never a complete list of people in a household.
